Nolan Dahm

I'm the founder and director of QC History, a Charlotte digital-history organization making the region's past freely accessible online — including QC Search, a free research tool for searching thousands of Charlotte-Mecklenburg historical sources.

I was previously the Historian at the Charlotte Museum of History, where I curated the award-winning Meck Dec 250 exhibit. My work focuses on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, the history of slavery and the American South, environmental history, and the history of education. I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and moved to North Carolina in 2015. Die-hard Iowa Hawkeye and Charlotte Hornets fan.
